Vancouver Island has a climate in which many heathers do very well. Along with the well established cultivars, there are lots of newer introductions offering ever more opportunities for gardeners. Both flower colour and foliage colour can be used to advantage. With this in mind, gardeners soon come to appreciate that heathers are unmatched in their ability to provide delightful garden colour every month of the year.
The Vancouver Island Heather Society meets every month during the year other than January, July and August. The Society consists of a small but mighty group of heather enthusiasts and the program is designed to provide our members with a variety of activities during the year. If you are not a member of the Society and would like to join us on one of our activities in order to try us out, please pick the activity that appeals to you and feel free to join us. Schedule of activities is found on the Activities page
